Why not read the book and then watch the film?
I have just done this and both provided excellent entertainment.
Totally recommended.

Today's Recommended read..........

Rather liked the idea of reading 6 authors writing each part to a 6 part mystery with a common theme. The last part is easily the best, but I would not say the others need ploughing through.
If you like historical, or mystery, worth investigating.
